Playing Slap ’N Sip without drinking
The game is the slap, not the sip. Change the penalty and nothing else needs to change.
Why it still works
Everything that makes the game fun happens before anybody drinks: the lunge, the tangle of sticky hands, the argument about who touched the chip first. The sip is only what the loser does next, and that part is easy to swap.
Penalties that replace a sip
- Lose a point: play to five chips and every sip card takes one away.
- Do the dare: the card winner invents a small dare for the player who would have sipped.
- Sit out a round: the loser’s hand stays on the table for one throw.
- Fizzy water or juice: the ritual stays, the alcohol does not.
Mixed groups
If some players drink and some do not, let everyone choose their penalty before the first round. Write it next to their name on a napkin. Nobody has to explain themselves and nobody gets singled out.
